Here are some of the dogs we have available for rehoming at the moment. Please be aware that we cannot be sure how well any of the dogs
will get on with any cats you may have at home.
These dogs are featured here because none of them were
wearing ID discs when picked up and when scanned, none were microchipped.
Look after your pet and get him microchipped, that way he will be returned to you if he strays.
A dog must wear ID tags by law. Ask at reception for disc engraving
done while you wait and microchipping by appointment.
We have new dogs arriving at the centre every day
and so the most recent arrivals may not feature on this page for a few days.
Please contact us if you'd like more up to date information.
Please - think carefully when deciding to rehome a dog.
Dogs are being let down by people who agree to take them, but then change their minds.
| Last updated on: 07/03/2010 | | Lara Lara is a mature boxer lady who is happy ,intelligent and lively. She seems ok with other dogs but will need testing properly. She ignored our live stock but hasn’t been cat tested .
Lara would like a nice family who can give her the love and affection she deserves. She still has lots of energy and is quite bouncy. She loves to be fussed over and still enjoys her walks. She acts like a five year old !
| | Bob Bob has just come into us as a stray, we believe him to be about 2 years old.
He loves people, and likes to give lots of kisses.
We have not tested him with other dogs or cats as yet, but will update as we get to know him a little better.
| | Bruce Bruce is a young Staffy.
He has just arrived. He is very thin and doesn't know why he has ended up in rescue.
More info to follow. | | Brooke Brooke is a shy little Staffy girl who is a little unsure of people at the moment.
She is slowly gaining confidence the more time we spend with her. She has only been with us for a little while so more information will follow shortly.
We do know she is not too keen on dogs.
| | Mo Mo is an 8 year old German Shepherd. Her owners have lost their home and Mo's life looked likely to be brought to an abrupt end, because they had nowhere for her to go.
She is now safe at Mutts in Distress, but would love a family to call her own.
She is a shy, bewildered girl, who is wondering what has happened to her home and family, but who is very gradually learning to trust us.
We think she would like to live with a couple. She is quiet and easy-going. Mo has only been with us for a few days, so we will update as we know more about her.
| | Charlie Charlie is a gentle soul. He loves to go walkies and he likes to play, but his favourite pass time is cuddling!
He is good on his lead and has lovely, kind manners. This is the dog to take on holiday, go to the park with, play ball with and snuggle on the sofa with.
He is really companionable and would, I think, fit into most life-styles without complaint.
One of the easiest dogs we have had in.
| | Spud Spud is pretty much all boxer and we believe him to be about 9 yrs old.
He has lived with the same family all his life, but due to some very personal reasons,he is now looking for a new home. Spud is an absolute gentleman, he is very happy go lucky, loves his walks and is obedient.
He would like a new family with preferably no young children, for a quiet life.
His previous owners would love to stay in touch, and have
agreed to continue to pay for his insurance. | | Bella Bella is a friendly Staffy female.
She is 4 years old. Although Bella is deaf, she has good manners and she is a good girl with other dogs.
She has not been cat tested yet.
| | Simba Simba is currently in a foster home.
He is neutered and fully vaccinated.
He is house trained and used to being left at home alone during school hours and is also well behaved at bath time.
He is loving and playful but not keen on other dogs when he is on lead.
He has been perfectly fine in the same room as other dogs. Our training classes will help here enormously.
If you are interested in rehoming Simba, please contact the kennels to arrange an appointment to meet him.
| | Jackson Jackson is a Patterdale cross.
He is about 8/9 years old.
Jackson has obviously been a much-loved pet at some time, so goodness only knows why or how he ended up on death-row, awaiting execution as an unclaimed stray.
He has a lot of love to give and really wears his little heart on his sleeve.
This dog would be happy with a couple or a family. He is sweet and kind. Whoever has abandoned him in the freezing cold, has been forgiven by him. He is a very kind dog. | | Josh Josh has just arrived.
This little dog is just ADORABLE. Lovely, scrummy, sweet, kind little dog.
What a wonderful, wonderful companion for anyone who's got the love to return that this little bloke has in his heart.
Lovely, lovely dog. I cannot say more than that!
We think he is about 9.
| | Mitch Mitch is a 4 year old Staffy male.
He seems ok with other dogs although he will need to be introduced to any possible dogs he may have a home with.
He is friendly and laid back with people and ignored our chickens. He is vaccinated.
| | Lisa Lisa is a beautiful Rottie.
She is 3 years old. She has seen other dogs and seems ok with them but will need to be tested properly.
She ignored the chickens and the cats .
This girl seems very social with people and is extremely friendly.
| | Joey Joey is a German Shepherd cross,about 12mths old.
He is a good boy, loves people, okay with other dogs and full of energy.
Joey is looking for someone to really love him as he has been let down in the past and dumped, unwanted.
He still thinks that all people are wonderful and is hoping he might be picked by someone who is prepared to love him forever this time.
Joey is not at Mutts in Distress, all enquiries will be forwarded to the relevant rescue for homechecking etc.
| | Lulu Lulu is a Sheltie cross, about 6 yrs old.
She has had a very sad life and endured some ill treatment before being rescued. Now her rescuer sadly has a spinal condition that prevents Lulu from being cared for.
Lulu is a good girl but very shy of strangers especially larger men until she gets to know them. She would love a quite life and will happily lay by your feet or by the bed on a night time.
She has a sweet personality and is gentle by nature.
Lulu would suit an older couple or family who want a nice peaceful girl by their side and whilst children are ok, she would prefer a quieter household.
Lulu loves the company of cats and enjoys curling up with them.
