Here are some of the dogs we have available for rehoming at the moment.  Please be aware that we cannot be sure how well any of the dogs will get on with any cats you may have at home.

These dogs are featured here because none of them were wearing ID discs when picked up and when scanned, none were microchipped. Look after your pet and get him microchipped - that way he will be returned to you if he strays. Dogs must wear ID tags by law. Ask at reception for disc engraving done while you wait and microchipping by appointment.

We have new dogs arriving at the centre every day and so the most recent arrivals may not feature on this page for a few days. Please contact us if you'd like more up to date information.

Please - think carefully when deciding to rehome a dog.
Dogs are being let down by people who agree to take them, but then change their minds.

Picture of Minnie in foster
Minnie in foster
Minnie is a small size super-sweet little girl of approx. 3-4 years old. She's very dog friendly and seems to be fairly low energy. Minnie loves cuddles and is very affectionate. She hasn't been cat tested as yet but we have a hunch she'd be fine with them. She walks well on a lead and is good on recall too.
Minnie enjoys canine company and we'd prefer her to be rehomed where there is a resident dog/s.
Minnie really is an all-round lovely little lady.
Minnie has been spayed, vaccinated, chipped and wormed. She is being fostered in the Ashford/Kent area.
Please note,Minnie is not staying at Mutts in Distress.

Picture of Mia in foster
Mia in foster
Mia has had a very difficult start in life. She was surviving on the streets and was hit by a car.Thankfully, a small rescue group came to her rescue and they ensured Mia had the best vet treatment they could afford. She lost a lot of muscle in the wound area and now her face is slightly droopy. She also lost some fur behind her ears which will probably never grow back. Her left eye was affected but she seems to cope well with it although we are unsure how much she can see in that eye.
Mia is now being fostered in the Southgate area of North London area where she continues to grow in confidence and enjoy her new life.
Mia is medium in size with long soft fur and we estimate around 3 years old. She is being fostered with other dogs and also cats. She is curious about the cats but doesn't seem to be aggressive. She is completely fine with other dogs although she can hold her own if need be.
She likes to play but overall is quite low energy. Mia is completely house trained. As yet she has not been out on any walks as she is afraid of the lead but gets plenty of exercise running around the garden. She is ok with meeting new people but is still nervous and will need time to fully shine and regain her trust.
Mia has been spayed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. We would prefer an adult only house for her, a calm environment and one where she can blossom slowly in her own time. She has so much potential though and lots of love to give.
Mia is in foster and not staying at Mutts in Distress.
If you are interested in rehoming Mia,please contact Sorina: sorinab@hotmail.com or 020 8361 0762
Picture of Fefe in foster
Fefe in foster
Fefe is a medium sized girl approx. 2-years old. Fefe is perfectly fine with cats and other dogs. She can however be very fearful with people around and yelps loudly if spooked or touched when she's not expecting it, which leads us to believe she has been ill-treated in the past, perhaps when she was living as a stray.
She really wants to relax and trust however, and with experienced owner/s, we're sure she can reach her potential.
She is fairly high-energy when playing with other dogs and enjoys playing with toys. She's even starting to play fetch with her foster carers in the last week and this builds her confidence a bit more.
Fefe will need an adult only home ideally with a resident dog as she enjoys their company so much. She will need time to come out of her shell and to stop being so nervous. When she gets really nervous, she can wet herself, so will need owners that show patience until she is fully confident in her environment.
Fefe has been spayed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped and is being fostered in the Southgate area of Nth London.
Fefe is not staying at Mutts in Distress. If you are interested in rehoming Fefe, please contact
