Mutts in Distress is an animal shelter located at Normandale Kennels, in Little Hallingbury near Bishops Stortford on the Hertfordshire / Essex border.
We rescue dogs from local pounds that would otherwise be destroyed, and offer them for rehoming.
See the dogs who are currently looking for new homes.

FOSTER HOMES ARE NEEDED URGENTLY.
There are more dogs needing rescue than there are kennels available. Some dogs will have to be turned away if no other option is found. Could you offer a temporary home ?
Please call 01279 656633 and leave a message if you could help one of the needy souls. |

Urgently required!
Does anyone have a Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner. Dog food is always needed too.
Also towels, bedding, blankets, single duvet covers etc.
Any donations of double knitting wool that can be used to knit up dog coats and if anyone that knits could offer their services please.
If anyone has any collars, leads, check chains, or large dog coats, Mutts desperately need them for the new residents. |
Our rehoming policy
We are sorry, but we do not take unwanted dogs from members of the public. If you find a dog, please take it to a police station or call the local council’s dog warden. The owner may be frantically trying to find their pet. |

Kai's story
Kai is a young, adult Rotweiller who arrived here with his father Ice. Both appear to have been severely neglected and between them, weighed less than one healthy male Rotweiller would weigh. Kai is one of the most severe cases of malnourishment we have seen in recent years, requiring extensive veterinary treatment including hospitalisation.
